Configure SCP server in linux

To make linux system as a SSH/SCP server we have to install openssh server first

1> Use following command to install the openssh server

apt-get install openssh-server

2> After installing openssh-server we have to edit one file

vi /etc/ssh/sshd_config
PermitRootLogin no

We have to change the above line as follows:

PermitRootLogin yes

By editing this file root user can take the ssh of the linux.

On Kali linux 2.0 you have to run the following command as well. If this command is not used everytime the machine reboots you have to start ssh service.

systemctl enable ssh

3> Reboot the device.
